Excel Courier Ltd has inaugurated its board of directors in Accra.
The Eigth (8) member board is made up of seasoned and experienced men and women with a wide and varied range of expertise in different business fields, who are bringing their expertise to bear on the growth and success of the company.

RICHARD C. EKEM
Director

A married man with four children, Mr. Ekem is an Industrialist par excellence.

With vision and foresight, he has researched into the various raw materials for the production of pottery, ceramics and refractories in Ghana and is currently the Managing Director of Ekem Art Pottery Ltd. which specializes in the production of refractories, assay crucibles, and gyapa coal pot liners.

He has been a member of Board of Schools like Boa Amponsem Secondary School and Assin Manso Secondary School.

He is at present a trustee of the Ghana Institute of linguistics literacy and Bible Translation (GILLBT).

He is also the Director of Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship International, Central Region.

KOMLA ONNY ESQ.
Secretary / Director

A Lawyer by Profession, with expertise and experience in Corporate Law, Commercial Law and Land Law, he is currently the Chief Manager and Head of the Legal Unit of Ghana Post (Headquarters).

He holds a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Cape Coast and post graduate degree in law from the Ghana law school and is an old Achimotan (AKORA).

He joined the Ghana Post in 1989 as controller of posts, Accra North District and by dint of hard work, rose through the ranks to his current position.

He has attended several seminars and courses at reputable institutions like Nepostel, the Dutch Postal Training School, Netherlands, the WF Bolger Management Academy, USA and the International Development Law Institute Rome, Italy.

Married with a son.

 
KWABENA AKUAMOAH AGYEKUM
Director

Kwabena Akuamoah Agyekum is currently the Executive Director and the Director of the Chartered Institute of Marketing-Ghana, and Ghana School of Marketing respectively.

He is also the Executive Secretary of The Ghana Advertisers Board (GAB) and Ag. Coordinator for the Ghana Advertising & Media Research Foundation (GAMERF).

Before these positions he was a Consultant attached to the Association of Small Scale Industries and a part time Lecturer at the Ghana School of Marketing, Academy of Business Administration and the Graduate School of Management.

He is a qualified marketer as well as a Chartered Marketer.

He has over ten years experience in Marketing & Administration at both the operational & managerial level.

ALEXANDER AFENYO-MARKIN ESQ.
Chief Executive Officer

A shining example as far as Ghanaian entrepreneurship is concerned; Mr. Alexander Afenyo-Markin has carved a niche for himself when it comes to the courier and logistics industry in Ghana.

His determination, vision and foresight led to the establishment of Excel Courier Ghana Limited which is a subsidiary of the Excel Holdings Ghana Limited in April 2004.Unlike other courier and logistics companies in Ghana, which are representing huge international courier firms, Excel Courier is a wholly Ghanaian owned entity with a Ghanaian board of directors which shows his determination and business confidence, since to compete with these international companies is not an easy task.

Born in Winneba on the 27th May, 1978, Mr. Afenyo-Markin is one of the youngest successful business entrepreneurs in Ghana today. He is a lawyer by profession and had his LLB (Hons) from the University of Buckingham-UK, and studied at the Ghana School of Law for his professional law education (Barrister in Law).

He had his primary education at the STC Preparatory School in Winneba and thence to the St. Augustine’s College in Cape Coast for his secondary education.

He started his professional career with the Ghana Post in 1998 as an Assistant Postal Officer. By dint of hard work he rose through the ranks to become Principal Postal Officer within (18) months. He was later transferred to Expedited Mail Service (EMS) section of the company as a Client Service Executive.

Here, his greatest achievement was his introduction of the Priority Prepaid service for student’s admissions at the tertiary level, a service that is quite popular and being used by all the main Universities and Polytechnics in the country as at now. He is married with children.

JASON JOSHUA ONYAMEH
Director

 A successful Business Executive  of a cool, calm and wild disposition He is the Chief  Executive Officer of Divine Travel and Tour Ltd.

 Mr. Jason Joshua Onyameh had made a mark for himself and his company when it comes to travel industry locally and internationally.

 He holds an Upper Class Degree with honour in Administration (tourism management) from Trinity College and University.

 He also holds a Diploma Certificate from International Air Transport Association (IATA).

 He has been honoured severally for outstanding professional achievements by various Airlines such as British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, and Ethiopian Airlines amongst others.

He also won an international award for Excellence and Business Prestige in New York,USA in the year 2004 as well as the international Star award for quality(Platinum Category) recently held in Geneva.

He has traveled extensively worldwide and is a genius in the travel and tours industry.

He is married with two sons.

 
FRANCIS ADJEI-MENSAH
Director of Finance

A man of varied knowledge and experience, Mr. Francis Adjei-Mensah has his expertise in the area of Business Restructuring, Auditing, Accounting and Administration and is bringing this rich and varied wealth of experience that he has to bear on the management.

He has worked as a consultant in Business and Management Services to MSME’s by designing unique business solutions for clients as well as providing creative solutions to their many and challenging business obstacles. Some MSME’s  he handled include Home Springs Beverage Ltd. in Kumasi, producers of Natural Mineral Water where he introduced the computerization of their Management Information System and helped reduce supply inefficiency by establishing monitoring systems and cost cutting measures to increase profit margins and reduce losses.

Mr.Adjei-Mensah has also worked as Finance and Administrative Manager for Fontomfrom TV and Appiah Mankah Complex in Kumasi where his skills in business restructuring helped transform these companies. For instance, at Fontomfrom TV, he helped establish an accounting and management information system to streamline their business activities.

Again, at Appiah Menka Complex, he was actively involved in designing a new business plan for restructuring the company to achieve its current level of support as well as his introduction of internal control mechanisms to minimize losses and enhance profits after long periods of losses.

Mr. Adjei-Mensah has worked with other firms such as Gold Link Business Services Ltd. as Finance and Administrative Manager as well as Pannel Kerr Forster (Chartered Accountants and Auditors, Kumasi) where he audited corporate accounts of bodies like Limex Bau Construction, Nwabiagya Rural Bank, Agogo Hospital, Naja David and Saaud Brothers & Sons, timber contractors.

Married with three children,Mr. Francis Adjei-Mensah holds a BA, Arts from KNUST as well as professional accounting qualifications from the Institute Of Chartered Accountants, Ghana(ICAG),Level 3, part 3 (MIS).He has also undertaken several courses such as a management course for small business providers organized by SPEED Ghana and DANIDA,Accounting for VAT and Practical Cash and Treasury Management by Kwame Asante and Associates and an Entrepreneurship Development Programme for leaders by Christian Business Ministries California,U.S.A.

He is skillful in Accounting Software’s like Sage, Tally, Topaz, Pocket Accountant and Quick books.

In his address at the inaugural ceremony the CEO, Alexander Afenyo-Markin Esq. stated that the company's main objectives is to be recognized as the total courier solutions partners for business growth and development in Ghana and Worldwide.
